This is the second time I went to Guu Izakaya and the experience was just as fun and yummy as the first time!
Here's what I got (I think)
1. Takoyaki
- menu description: deep fried octopus ball with tonkatsu sauce and karashi mayo
- thoughts: This was really good but the karashi mayo has a strong flavour so it may be too strong for a few people

2. Okonomiyaki
- menu description: deep fried Japanese pancake with squid, tonkatsu sauce and karashi mayo
- thoughts: This dish came after we got the Takoyaki and it was pretty stupid of us to get BOTH the Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki because they are TOO similar. They have the same sauces and flavours so by the time we started eating this dish, we were pretty tired of the strong flavour and smell. Next time, we'll definitely only order ONE of these dishes and not both.

3. Hotate Carpaccio
- menu description: hokkaido scallop sashimi with wasabi dressing
- thoughts: This was my favourite dish out of the 5! The scallops were delicious and the dressing was not overpowering at all; it was just right :) If I go back to Guu, I'll definitely order this dish again.

4. Karaage
- menu description: deep fried soy sauce marinated chicken with garlic mayo
- thoughts: I really enjoyed this dish because the marinate was really good and the chicken was juicy and tender inside.

5. Top Left Corner Picture
- I remember this dish being on a separate sheet of paper. It wasn't on the actual standard Guu menu so sadly, I don't remember what it was called. I remember that it was a dish consisting of assorted raw fish on rice; think of it as Chirashi Sushi.
Overall
I love Guu not only because of it's food but its live atmosphere where all employees take part in greeting guests, birthday songs and etc. They have very unique dishes and ingredients that you won't find anywhere else. If you haven't tried Guu already, I highly recommend you go check it out!
Tip: The dishes at Guu are quite small so if you want to feel full, you have to order quite a few dishes and that requires you to have a generous wallet that day.
